VIRGINIA CATFISH ASSOCIATION

2010 RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

  1. This is a catch and release club. No dead fish or fish in unacceptable condition will be weighed PERIOD!  Any fish failing to swim away 15 minutes after it is weighed will be disqualified.
  2. Aerated livewells (ONLY) with adequate volume must be used at all times. There are on exceptions to this rule.
  3. No fish is to be gaffed or similarly injured. Any fish with gaff or stringer marks will be disqualified.
  4. Fish must be transported to and from weigh-in, (only) in tubs provided .
  5. Tournaments are for members only, unless otherwise stated (open).
  6. Club membership dues are $10.00 per person per year. There will be no guest passes, except persons under the age of 16 may fish for free.
  7. VCA tournaments will enforce all state and local fishing regulations.
  8. Only rods and reels may be used to catch fish. No trotlines,limblines, jugs etc. No bank fishing will be allowed.
  9. A maximum of (2) two fish per boat can be weighed, including Big Fish. No weighed fish can be culled.
  10. All weighed fish become property of the VCA and will be released alive.
  11. Any species of catfish may be weighed.
  12. Registration will begin 1-1/2 hours prior to start time and stop 15minutes before start time. There will be no exceptions.
  13. All livewells must be inspected and sighed off on by a staff member before registering.
  14. TOURNAMENT FEES AS FOLLOWS;
  15. (A) - Two (2) fish tournament fees will be $50.00 per boat. Cash only.
  16. (B) - Big Fish (1-fish) tournament fees will be $25.00 per boat.
  17. (C) - ENTER BOTH TOURNAMENTS - $100.00
  18. Tournaments will payback 100%. (see payout chart for details)
  19. After registration has completed, chips will be drawn to determine launching order.
  20. The team drawing the highest numbered chip will flight boats in ten second intervals.
  21. Before tournament time expires, teams must place their numbered chip in the official tournament coffee can. Only the chips in the official coffee can will be eligible for weigh-in. There will be no grace period for late arrivals to weigh-in.
  22. Weigh-in will begin approx. 15 minutes after tournament ends.
  23. Chips will be drawn (one at a time) from official coffee can to determine weigh-in order.
  24. In the event of a tie, the deciding factor will be; 
  25. (A) - Two fish tournament, the heaviest fish.  
  26. (B) - Big Fish tournament, will split the purse.
  27. All pre-fishing must stop (12) hours before scheduled tournament start time.
